The eWheels.org Association (EWA) has created this statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices.
Use of the Information this Site Gathers and Tracks
We use your Internet Protocol (IP) address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web site. IP addresses are used, for example, to gather broad demographic information, but we do not link them to anything personally identifiable.
A cookie is a file that stores data on a user's computer or returns it to the web server. The data in the file is information a user has entered using an online form or generic information about the visiting user such as IP address and country. A cookie can store information temporarily (session cookies) or permanently (regular cookie).
eWheels.org uses permanent or temporary cookies for logging in to remember you when you've logged in. Cookies help the site remember your login upon return to eliminate your need to login again. They do not store any personal or financial information.
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
In case IP-anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be truncated within the area of Member States of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases the whole IP address will be first transfered to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP-anonymisation is active on this website.
EWA runs this site on the Acquia Cloud (US-East), this implies that data is processed and stored outside of the EU. Acquia is compliant with the EU Model Clauses and certified with the ISO 27001, to protect personally identifiable information according to European standards. This scheme is recognised by the European Commission as providing adequate protection for the rights of individuals in connection with the transfer of their personal data to signatories of the scheme in the USA.
As a member of EWA, we use member contact information from the application form to send the user information about membership discounts, information and news. Membership contact information is also used to get in touch with the member when necessary for administrative purposes. The online Membership Directory is provided for informational purposes and members may opt out of being listed in the online directory at the time of application or contact EWA to be removed.
EWA will use email as a method to communicate with members and colleagues regarding EWA-related information. Users may opt-out of receiving emails at any time. Emails sent may include but are not limited to the EWA Newsletter, the Member Update, and other notifications regarding EWA-related information. Notices of opportunities and information external to EWA, that carry value or are of direct interest to membership, will only be sent via email within the Member Update and made available online at the discretion of EWA's Membership Committee.
Communications From Underage Individuals
EWA will not initiate communication with any individual under the age of 18. If an underage individual initiates communication for specific information, we will respond to their email with generic information and ask them to involve their parent/guardian in further communications. Public forums as defined below are typically not monitored by EWA directly. Parents should caution children when participating on any public forum.
This site contains links to other sites. EWA is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites.
This site may make communities based on the Google+ Plattform available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.
